How to purchase off of Amazon with a Borders gift card?

I've been having trouble using a gift card on Amazon. When I tried to enter my gift card info and press continue on the second step of the process, it says that I need to enter my credit card number. The only dotted options are for credit cards and money orders, so the default option on that page is always selected as a credit card, even though theres a blank window to enter your gift card number. I know the card has 25 dollars and is more than the book I'm buying costs. If someone could help me I would really appreciate it.
Even if the gift card covers your whole purchase, you still have to enter your credit card info, but Amazon will not charge it in your case. There should be a field in the next step of the checkout for you to enter your gift card number.
You still need to punch in your number.. .they want to make sure they get paid incase the gift card has a 0 balance on it or theres not enough funds… call their 800# if you have questions
Are you going through the borders website? You have to start at borders and add the new copy that’s listed. When you go through the checkout, in your shopping cart it will display shipped by borders teamed with amazon. As long as it says borders teamed with amazon and not just amazon the payment page will pop up the option to pay by borders gc as well instead of just credit card, etc.
You can check your gift card balance here: and if Amazon/Borders won’t take it, you can sell it or exchange it on the same site.
